Why Choose the IX250 Roof Structure?

Both traditional and contemporary homes can benefit from the IX250 Orangery roof structure. Project Brief

Omega Windows, Doors and Conservatories were given the task to help design and construct a brand new Orangery. From the range of conventional products being used, all the way through to more bespoke features, every detail was carefully accounted for to ensure a quality finish was established. Much like the recent install we completed on a period property in Kent, it was important that the Orangery was made to suit the Victorian home it would be added onto. This meant formulating plans which catered towards the traditional layout this particular client wanted. Being selected by a specialist building contractor was high praise for Omega, and also ourselves, since the IX250 roof structure was added to the Orangery. It was also important that any plans made came with the capacity to gain approval from building control.

The Process

One of the biggest obstacles for Omega to overcome was combining materials which could adopt a similar tone and finish as timber. Once that was taken care of, Residence 9 windows and doors were included within the design in white woodgrain PVC-U, as this could help form the main framework and give off that desired timber styling. Suit load bearing fluted corner posts were also selected since this fitted perfectly within this particular window system. Cutting time was also greatly reduced with the use of pre cut PIR boards & exterior OSB boards.

Our Input

Moving onto the roofing, and this is where our team managed to supply their services to help create the Orangery. The IX250 Orangery Warm Roof was fitted, creating greater levels of thermal performance and strength to support a glazed lantern. Delivery of the roof deck was made in pre-manufactured MIG welded sections, making the installation process a seamless exercise. All the main parts of the roof deck were also delivered directly to the site. With MIG welded sections easily lifted into place, the final result was accomplished in seamless fashion.
